D&C 1:24 "Behold, I am God and have spoken it; these commandments are of me, and were given unto my servants in their weakness, after the manner of their language, that they might come to understanding."

One of the most beautiful aspects of faith is the belief that God speaks to us in a language we can understand. Whether it’s through scripture, prayer, or moments of quiet reflection, the message is always clear and personal. This highlights a key truth about communication: it’s not just about delivering a message but about ensuring the person receiving it can grasp it fully. In many ways, we are called to communicate in the same way.

Good communication requires us to truly know our audience—who they are, what they care about, and how they perceive the world. When we take the time to understand the person or group we’re speaking to, we can craft our words in a way that resonates with them. Just like how God meets us where we are, we, too, must meet others where they are. This means adjusting our tone, vocabulary, and message to fit the person’s level of understanding, culture, and their experiences.

If you’re speaking to someone unfamiliar with a concept, simplifying it and using relatable examples is key. If the person has expertise in a topic, going deeper into the details shows respect for their knowledge. The goal isn’t just to speak but to be heard and understood.

Ultimately, effective communication is about building bridges. Just as God reaches out to us in ways we can understand, we, too, are responsible for making sure our words connect with others in meaningful, relatable ways. It's a lesson in empathy, awareness, and intention, reminding us that real communication is more than just talking—it’s connecting.
